Van the Man

On Thursday April 8th 1999 at approximately 7.15pm (19 hours after seeing the WIZARDS OF OZ at the AXIOM) I was back in Cheltenham's Town Hall, this time it was to see VAN MORRISON. This concert was the opening performance of the 4th International Jazz Festival.

The line-up for the band was:-

When VAN MORRISON came on stage I thought he looked like JAMES BOLUSHI in THE BLUES BROTHERS. After the third track was performed his special guest (CHRIS BARBER) joined the band to play trombone. He performed about thirteen songs which included BACK ON TOP and JUST LIKE A WOMAN.

I thought the concert was very good but too short as it finished at 8.30pm (a bit different from the previous night).
